This has been a year for some real eye opening experiences - on a personal level to a global scale. This has also been a year of endings for many, releasing the cycles of the last 9 years and getting set for a new cycle for 2017. SAT NAM!

Reflections: Life Cycles

This is a great time to focus on where you now: Where are you in your life and what new things do you want to start in the next cycle?

Every 18 years, the physical body goes through a process of maturity and change. We call this the 
Cycle of Life Energy. Every 11 years, the way you apply what you know to solving problems changes. The horizon of the intelligence expands. We call this the Cycle of Intelligence. And every 7 years, the fundamental sense of your identity evolves. It deepens, building on the wisdom of past experiences. We call this the
Cycle of Consciousness.


This Month's Yoga Tip

Stimulate Your Chakra System and Feel Wonderful

Posture:
 Sit in easy pose with a straight spine. Put the fingers of the left hand on your forehead touching your third eye point. Extend your right arm out straight forward from your shoulder with the palm facing left. Close your eyes, hold the position, breathe slowly and deeply, meditate silently. Recharge your body with energy. Time: 18 Minutes

To finish: Inhale, hold your breath 5-10 seconds, and exhale. Repeat this sequence one more time. Then inhale, hold your breath for 10-15 seconds and, with your fingers interlocked over your head stretch your spine upward. Exhale and relax.

This kriya is for handling the pressures of the Information Age. As you do the posture, your breathing will change. Use your breath, the energy of prana, to carry you through. Keep your right arm stretched out parallel to the ground, to catch up with the magnetic field of the earth. Your left hand is at your pituitary to balance the heavens.

The force of your breath will become longer and more powerful. Your body will start feeling pain. This pain will give you endurance; endurance will cause you to rise above your situation; and once you rise above yourself, you’ve got it.


Get Set For 2017

We've not quite reached the new year - But the days leading up to it is a great time to start the process and then enjoy the holidays fully. here are some tips to get started!

  • Start to think of sometrhng you can do for this year's Winter Solstice.
  • Do a final clear out of anything that represents the old cycles for you. Leave room for new energy and abundance to come in.
  • Get grounded and rooted through earthy essental oils - Using base note essential oils really taps into Winter. For example: Sandlewood, Rose, Jasmine, Cinamon, Frankincense (read more here) You can a few drops into your bath and enjoy the warming energy.
  • A time to connect with people who you love - This is the perfect season to hold space for the people that matter to you the most.
  • Winter walks - Don't forget to make time to wrap up warm and explore some green spaces near you.
  • Start a gratitude journal - Your first entry could be all about the lessons you have learned in 2016 and how you will integrate it into 2017 and beyond.
  • Small steps for new routines - Keep it simple and start small. Little by little, you can build on new routines before 2017 has even started.
